Carob seed flour is a versatile and nutritious product, obtained from the seeds of the Ceratonia siliqua tree, which is grown mainly in Mediterranean regions. It is a natural thickening agent that is low in fat, rich in carbohydrates and natural sugars, and contains a good proportion of protein. Due to its thickening properties, it is mainly used in the preparation of desserts, including as a substitute for persimmon, as, unlike the latter, it contains no trace of caffeine. It can also be added to traditional flour to create special doughs for bread and fresh pasta.

Our Carruba is sold in a recycled and recyclable aluminium tin, with a green bioplastic bag made from sugar cane, 100% plastic-free.

HOW TO USE

Thickener
Add directly to the mixture you wish to thicken. It is also used as a substitute for sugar or cocoa in sweet recipes. Add to flour to create innovative doughs.

Quantity varies; we recommend using as required or according to the recipe you are following.
